Hi everyone and welcome to craftbarr.com! I’m Heather, a twenty-something living in the Hudson Valley region. Over the years I’ve developed a love for wine, craft beer, and the culture behind it. This love has turned into a passion and it’s my dream to create a small craft bar where people can feel at home, socialize, and learn more about local beer and wine. I don’t quite have the funds for this dream yet, but I’m slowly starting to build the idea and research the process.
This past October I created @craftbarr on Instagram and it’s been so fun sharing the beers and wines I’ve discovered locally and while traveling. With the creation of this website, I hope to share more with you as I explore breweries and wineries. Here you can find information on places I’ve visited, my experiences as I learn more about the craft industry, and perhaps some interviews too.

Fun Facts About Heather:
- The extra ‘R’ in Craft Barr comes from my last name Barr
- I’m a sucker for seasonal beers, specifically those with pumpkin or watermelon
- I waitress part-time at a local vineyard and have done so for almost 4 years
- Red wine > white wine, but I enjoy a nice glass of chilled rosé or champagne in the summer
- Obsessed with marine life, I recently became a certified Open Water Diver
- I have a super cute pet hedgehog named Turtle
- If I had to choose one type of beer to drink forever, I’d choose IPA
